
Maria Di Pietro (Napoli, 1979) has a degree in Scenography at the Fine Arts Academy of Naples, with a final thesis in Photography. Her passion for photography drives her to a research between theater and photojournalism, which is expressed in recent years working with the southern Italy photo-agency "Controluce" that offers her the possibility to enter the professional circuit photojournalism, published in national and international (La Stampa, L'Unità, Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica. And international, like AFP).
She exhibits in various solo and group exhibitions and participates in professional workshops, including a seminar with the Magnum photographer Rene' Burri. In 2005 he participated in the theater section at the XII Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Naples. In 2009 participates in the Human Rights Film Festival in Naples / Buenos Aires, winning the category Eyes Wide Shut.
Currently she is a freelance photographer devoted to her personal search for social photograph with strongly pictorial results.
