
Mojmir Ježek, Heart Factory of the Arts, Naples, 2011
On Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 6:30 pm opens to the Factory of the Arts in Naples "Hearts & Crafts", an exhibition of the artist Mojmir Ježek, a unique variation of its hearts, with a mark Factory of the Arts, in chocolate and textiles manufacturing excellence.
A collection of hearts, which include also a unique work designed by the artist on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, made from the neapolitan chocolate factory Dolce Idea of Gennaro Bottone, will be at the Factory of the Arts and at the shops Dolce Idea for sale along with a publication with 12 prints of the works of Ježek accompanied by texts of Natalia Aspesi and Erri De Luca from the book Heartbeat (2001, Core editions).
The hearts of Mojmir Ježek represent a new appointment for the construction of dialogue with the manufacturers of the food that Factory of the Arts is conducting in collaboration with tha association Slow Food. "The multi-faceted communication and originality of the artist - says Giusi Laurino, artistic director at Factory of the Arts - can easily reach an audience looking for quality raw materials, creating synergy between a craft of excellence and a renewed vision of the design of food". "This work - Slow Food says - aims to enhance a food production "good, clean and fair" through a creative design that becomes both a symbol of emotional intelligence and storytelling craft of Campanian excellence".
It will be also presented an edition of pouf titled Heart created for the Factory of the Arts by Raro Design and signed by Mojmir Ježek. The work, which develops the concept of Yin and Yang in two variants of magenta, is accompanied by a drop-shaped table in lacquered resin.
In the gallery spaces there will be also an exhibition of acrylics on cardboard and serigraphs by Jezek, made famous by the "Matters of the heart", a page published weekly on the magazine "il Venerdì de la Repubblica".
The exhibition is open until May 7, 2011, from Tuesday to Saturday from 11.00 am to 6.00 pm.
