Tuesday the 8th of December at 6 o’ clock pm at the Art Factory in Naples, there will be the opening of the “From the Immacolata through to the Epiphany”, a Christmas path through arts and crafts in collaboration with MIAAO (International Museum of Applied Arts Today) of Torin, and with the support of the Regional Commerce Council of Piemonte and the CRT Foundation.
From 2006 to 2008, in the monumental complex of San Filippo Neri in Torin, just before the Christmas Holidays, the MIAAO has already set up displays of cultural merchandising, where artefacts of at least 100 different authors and manufactory, most of them from Piemonte, were put on sale. The growing success of market-shows, edition after edition, has produced an increase of the cultural and commercial activity of the Extramoenia Museum and also a larger expression and innovation of the Intramuros contribution with a selection of products for the most part inedited. Therefore, this year, we have decided to encourage institutions to offer a more extensive project for this enterprise in order to reach a larger public. This is how the collaboration with the Art Factory in Naples and the association Le Terre dei Savoia was established.
Arts and Crafts Supermarket Savoir Faire à la Piémontaise, that will be opened the 5th of December in Torino at the MIAAO falls within the Stray MIAAO project, where the Museum’s many relational activities on the territory merge together. This project intends to promote and create a national “supportive and fair market” in favor of the young creative generation, also thanks to the collaboration of the Museum with the Association Le Terre dei Savoia, which will lead to the creation of a Royal workshop that will open at the Racconigi Castle in occasion of the first day of spring.
“From the Immacolata through to the Epiphany”, the Art Factory will host a section of the Savoir Faire à la Piémontaise exhibit, while a laboratory of artists created by Renato Barisani, Valerio Coppola, Luce Delhove, Maria Di Pietro, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Chung Eun-Mo, Carmine luino, Gianluigi Masucci, Annibale Oste, Enrica Rebeck, Fimmetta Russo Crdone and Oreste Zevola, for the occasion, has come up with small hand made articles and extemporary creative ideas. The Christmas path will also give people a chance to enjoy the expositions already present in the Gallery, such as “Strumenti Vari” by Nathalie du Pasquier, “Ambiente Barisani”by Renato Barisani and “Artisti in Fabbrica”.
“The Art Factory, established last October in the Historical Centre of Naples”, says our Art Director, Giusi Laurino, “ has connected to the MIAAO - International Museum of Applied Arts Today - in Torino, since its early stages. The Factory was very happy to work together with the Museum and to create a synergy for a revolutionary circulation strategy of the artistic message. We are enthusiastic to unite the South and the North, promoting the young creative generation and young designers. A very big thank you to the Piemonte Region and to the CRT Foundation that have sustained the project.”
