The new edition of Campioni d'Arte, realized by Factory of the Arts and supported by Fondazione Cannavaro Ferrara and Original Marines, will be linked to photography and digital languages, as well as the development of manual skills and practices, involving artists and the equipment of the Factory of the Arts. As with the previous edition, the Factory of the Arts will create a photographic record of their activities.
The project aims to cultivate and promote self-expression through photography. There will remain, therefore, to the simple printing of photographs taken by the children but it will develop, through a creative technique of collage, a series of jobs with the use of paper materials and crop photos, to underline that the photo is not only the story of what you see, but a way of looking in the mirror.
The meetings will take place from November 2010 to February 2011 with the participation of 10 boys between 10 and 13 years related to the Association La Casa dei Cristallini. Students will have access to digital cameras and editing tools to tell through photography, their daily life, from life experiences in family, school and city. Site chosen as a symbol of the approach to the city will be a place phisically close to them but not frequently known: the Royal Botanical Gardens. On these occasions, students will learn how to enhance the aesthetic sense to the world around them and to linger on the details the reality that they live. Through moments of confrontation they can, then, pool their experiences and find new incentives to continue in our efforts.
The course will be held by photographer Mario Laporta. The artist Oreste Zevola will provide to teach the collage techniques. At the end of the cycle of meetings, participants will become actors exposing, in the spaces of the Factory of the Arts, their works.
