now at factory

On Friday, November 18, 2011 at 18:30 it opens at the Arts Factory in Naples the exhibition "Trame di Luce" (Plots of Light). It presents works by the artist Luce Delhove, including sculptures, jewelry, textiles, sculptures and works also bright and tables obtained from the reuse of waste mechanics.
«The work of Fabbrica delle Arti and Luce Delhove - says the artistic director, Giusi Laurino - is an important example of the revitalization of the crafts excellence, primary objective of the project of "Factory". The meeting with Stefano Ionni, the blacksmith, who, in the historical center of Rome, continues the ancient tradition of manufacturing and the creative use of straining for oil producers and waste materials recovered from Luce underline the research conducted by the Fabbrica delle Arti in the communication among various techniques and materials and to relate different languages. For the first time, in this exhibition "Fabbrica delle Arti" has chosen to not only meet artisans from Campania, to provide a further sign of how excellence in manufacturing fabric is still present in much smaller towns than in big cities, waiting to be rediscovered and reinvigorated by the encounter with the contemporary».
Luce Delhove was born in Uccle (Belgium) on September 29, 1952. Designer, engraver, painter and sculptor, she lives and works in Rome and Milan. Professor of graphic art at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera (Milan), since 1979 she deals with the cutting, deepening the knowledge of languages and techniques and in 1998 began to experiment with new materials to create sculptures and graphics cards printed, and pulp and textile. Luce participated in group and personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad and, after a stage of processing and testing of slate in Valle Argentina (Imperia), she is dedicated to making jewelry.
It is the original training linked to the art of engraving which is found in all the works of Luce Delhove: perception, experience and awareness of memory. The research on light that was initially limited to two-dimensional space of the engraving, drawing, painting, expands now in the tridimensional space of the sculpture, installation and jewelry, witnesses of a great technical ability, where the influence of design fused with the artistic research.
The exhibition will be open until March 9, 2012, from Monday to Friday from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm. For information and appointments, please contact 081 0122327 - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
